What do the latest DVSA enforcement figures mean?

DVSA Withdraws 433 MOT Authorisations – Is Your MOT Station Meeting Its Responsibilities?

The latest DVSA enforcement figures reveal that 288 MOT testers and 145 Authorised Examiners had their authorisations withdrawn during 2025/26.
A further 423 warnings were issued.

While the majority of MOT stations operate professionally and maintain good standards, these figures are a reminder of the importance of effective quality control and management.

Not every disciplinary case involves fraud or deliberate wrongdoing. Issues with testing standards, management procedures and record-keeping can also result in DVSA action.

Having a quality management system is one thing. Making sure it works properly is another.

At MOT Compliance Group we help MOT businesses across the UK manage their responsibilities and identify potential problems before they become more serious.

With a team that includes former DVSA Vehicle Examiners, we provide practical support based on years of experience within the MOT industry.

Our services include:
✅ Regular compliance visits and site reviews
✅ Quality control and quality management
✅ MOT documentation and procedural checks
✅ Guidance on DVSA requirements
✅ Support with DVSA investigations and disciplinary matters

We understand that running a busy MOT station means balancing testing, workshop operations, staff and customers. Compliance can easily become something that gets pushed aside until there is a problem.

Our job is to help you stay on top of it.

Whether you operate a single MOT station or manage multiple sites, we can provide the support needed to maintain standards and reduce the risk of avoidable disciplinary action.

Don’t wait until DVSA identifies a problem to review your compliance procedures.
